Suppress or Express? A Roadmap to living a healthy and balanced Life!

Aren't we being taught that don't showcase your emotions, and if you do so, you'll be considered a weaker personality in our society and won't meet up the expectations of people around or you might lose good opportunities to succeed in life.
Why is it that we are taught to suppress our emotions rather than expressing them? Don't you'll agree that expressing your heart out works? We feel relieved. Don't we? And, let me tell you, as there has been more push for gender equality in our society over the past few decades, i believe that women have even begun to take on this same belief as own, out of fear that being viewed as someone 'emotional' which might limit their career and opportunities to succeed. In that process of not being termed as an emotional fool, people try to hide their emotions. They pretend to be strong outside, whereas inside it's killing them. It's really not necessary to portray the stronger side of you each time, it's definitely okay to be hurt.

If we suppress our feelings and emotions, it will leave you disturbed. Emotion is nothing but an energy in motion which is free flowing. And instead of expressing them, if we suppress it, it will leave you out of balance. Basically, you're stopping and forcing the free-flowing energy, which ultimately lead to anger bursts and violence thereby disturbing your health.
I've realized that expressing the emotions instead of suppressing them is the key to live a happy and healthy life.

Take Action Challenge :

When was the last time you got angry that your head began to hurt and your stomach tensed up, yet you didn't allow yourself to express the anger or release it?
When was the last time you stifled the urge to cry, but pushed your feelings back down inside and forced yourself to move on with your day?
When was the last time you walked into a party and felt so excited that you wanted to squeal and dance around, but you controlled yourself for fear of looking foolish or out of control?

It's time to liberate yourself from the shackles of suppression and let yourself FEEL and EXPRESS your emotions in each and every moment ! Everyday for next week, when you feel the urge to cry, let yourself CRY and let it out.

When you feel a surge of joy and happiness, let yourself free and steal the dance stage, dance around like a maniac or express it in bliss.
When you feel angry or upset, find a pillow and hit it as hard as you can, or lock yourself in your car and scream at the top of your lungs. Let yourself express and release the anger so it no longer builds up! :)

Cheers!

Tenderness Matters Wednesday - A Tiny Gesture That Defines The Friendship!

It all started in January, a tiny short-heighted girl with curly hair and the fairer skin, and little serious look at first, though a comedy face at second place. :p who knew that she will grab this place? Not here, but in my heart I mean! The more we came to know about each other, we both found we are likewise. I always used to tell her that, I see myself in You, or may be a part of me in You. And she used to laugh like idiots. I used to repeatedly tell her that I shall definitely write an article about us one fine day. Her Birthday gave me an opportunity today to write something about her, or rather about us.To the girl whom I know since 9 months, and feel like I know her since ages.
To all the madness she holds within her, the liveliness and the charm which she stores in her pockets.
To the tiny stupidities, kickass laughter, well organized plans and much more of smartness that she carries within her, how can I forget her doings?
Yes she likes to live a carefree life, without thinking about what happens at the next moment ? She believes in living today, the present precisely. She is one kind of a girl that's shown in movies like typically. All fun and no frowns, though she has a piece of her where she breaks down like every other girl. Yet she never give up so easily. Self motivated person she is ! She chase a dream, she falls, yet she gets up, gathers all her courage back, chase it again, follow her dream till the end & go miles to achieve it and once she achieves, she does not stop, but chase a new dream all over again. Yes She is the craziest bunch !: D On a serious note, her laughter is an endless laughter by the way. The smile is a thing that she carries with her every single day no matter what. Tell me who smiles when life is giving you the tough times, shaking you internally and making you face the circumstances that you never thought of, atleast I can't. She faces it all alone and very bravely, keeping the same smile always.

So, as today is her day I feel like thanking her from the core of my heart. This is the very tiny thing that I could do for you Priya. Hope you like it. :)
If Pune didn't happen to me, we might've never met in this life. I'm glad you happened to me. I consider myself very lucky. May this togetherness stay long. Cheers to our friendship. :)

Here's wishing you all the love, happiness and success in Life.
May the madness stays in you forever. Stay Mad, Stay You!

Like they say, " Life begins at the end of your comfort zone ! "

Moving to a new city alone after spending 22 years in one city is a lot difficult. That too when city is 'Mumbai' ; yes 'Aamchi Mumbai'. How can you in your dreams think of leaving this place & going far away to set up your career without your family & dear ones !?? 'Pune' happened to me ! After completing 2 months in Pune, I've learned certain things, though some are too funny to give you a laughter. ;)

Few Lessons :

 i) I am on a journey of nonstop growth. And, Life is never easy for those who dream. I understood that the hardest times in life to go through are when you are transitioning from one version of yourself to another.

ii) Buses in Pune never wait for anybody, even if a Lady or a Man is still in a position to catch a bus, the bus drivers don't care. Half of the people are one foot inside and are adjusting themselves, they still don't care. Worst, even if someone falls, they don't CARE either !

iii) Languages in our India plays an important role. Don't they? Whatever you need to ask, "Ask in Marathi." The other languages you speak, the people won't entertain much of your questions. Basically you won't get the full appropriate information you need. The moment you interact in 'Marathi' , they feel great and go their miles to help you.

iv) One great thing that can happen to anybody - Time for one self , right from cooking alone, dining alone, watching movies alone, dancing alone, walking streets alone, sharing little joys & sorrows alone.

v) Staying with bunch of women in a 3BHK with different characters, from different states, different perspectives and thoughts, while sharing a common house. It's not easy though, its a big challenge. Your abilities of perseverance, patience being put into test each time, you'll observe some of your room mates try their every single attempt to poke their noses and do their best to break you internally. To make it more easier, it's like a 'Bigboss' game, the one who survives the most, will be a winner at the end. ;)

vi) Now comes the money part, when after 22 years the very first time you step into the market alone for buying veggies, and you realize that your knowledge needs to be updated about the quantity and the prices ! You don't feel like spending much. Why? Because you're into a dilemma that your hard earned money is getting used to do the required purchasing each time.

vii) You tend to miss Mom's food especially when you can't cook like her, you hurt yourself everyday while cooking & keep getting those scars on your hand. And that ok-ok self-made food is all what you get to eat. :( No doubt, eventually you turn out as a best cook around after tons of failed attempts. :D

viii) Pune is less polluted compared to Mumbai, it has a moderate and a bearable climate, beautiful nature & places. 'Lavasa City' being my favorite one. 'Lonavala' & 'Khandala' being nearer is a perk too! Good tourist places and best for weekend trips ! :-)

ix) You get up, and cook on your own to feed your own self. And, few eatables like Cornflakes, Maggi, Chocolate Sandwiches, Omelettes becomes your ultimate necessity for survival, but only for the first initial days when you feel like cooking is just not your thing. And, you're happy to feed yourself with such stuffs. In fact you feel proud that you're at least consuming something. ;) :p

x) Finally you realize the city is not that bad, sometimes change is all you need to accept in your life. And surviving is not that important, living is what it matters. Live your hearts, get hurt, cry easily, laugh loudly, make the most of your life & make each moment worth it! Keep taking challenges & flourish yourself.

Always remember, if you are struggling, it means you're progressing.

Be a spark, not a light that dims away after a jerk of air.
